Minimum wage to rise
The National Minimum Wage will increase on Oct 1.
The new rate for workers aged 22 and over will be £5.52 per hour.
Workers aged between 18 and 21 will be entitled to a minimum of £4.66 per hour, while those aged under 18 should be paid £3.40 per hour.
The Low Pay Commission is currently consulting on the impact of the previous increase in the NMW (to £5.35) and what rate should be set in October 2008.
