What's the most underrated and overrated wine in the UK market?
We have an amazing Valpolicella (a ripasso really) by Bussola I'd gladly spend more on, but anything priced over £50 I've really got to think about.
If you could have three wishes to improve your working day, what would they be? A truly paper -free office, a retractable roof for sunny days and a chef on site.
How do you deal with irritating customers?
Being ridiculously polite and cheery normally seems to do the trick. Luckily we don't seem to have many customers who fall into this category.
If you had an extra hour in the day what would you do with it?
I should say I'd finish the shop admin, but as it never seems to end I think I'd catch up on sleep.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise your friends?
I don't think there's anything really surprising, I'm a pretty open book.
After a hard day's work, what drink do you kick back and relax with?
It's got to be wine or beer, but beyond that it always varies.
Can you give us an unusual food and wine -matching tip?
I love Pedro Xim énez on ice cream, and from staying in Alsace I can say that you can find a white wine for nearly every type of food.
If you could choose one person to be prime minister, who would it be? I believe Michael Vaughan's free.
If money was no object, what wine would you jump at buying? 1990 Roman ée Conti, Dom de la Roman ée Conti. You'd have to, wouldn't you?
