Benevolent hosts charity BBQThe Beneovlent will be holding its summer barbecue on July 6. The event is being called the Bangers ’n’ Balls BBQ as it coincides with the World Cup semi-finals. A big screen will show the football at the Imbibe bar in Southwark, south London. Tickets are £20 and include food, wine and beer all night. Crabbie’s food-matching tourHalewood international is embarking on a summer sampling tour for its Crabbie’s alcoholic ginger beer. The tour will include the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and polo matches held by Polo Networks. Brand ambassador and Michelin-star chef Atul Kochhar will conduct demonstrations at trade and consumer masterclasses to show how Crabbie’s can be served with food.
Stratford’s improves websiteStratford’s Wine Agencies has upgraded its website with a new look and extra speed for ease of use. The site – stratfordwine.co.uk – will include a searchable database, downloadable image bank of bottle shots, tasting notes and a calendar of events.
Kingsland launches bag-in-boxKingsland Wines & Spirits has launched a 1.5-litre bag-in-box New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc under the Runestone brand name. It will be sold nationally through the Co-op from June with an rrp of £10. Sales and commercial manager Mark Elener said: “The bag-in-box market is small, but today’s consumers are open to packaging innovations.”??Hunter takes on Drinkaware roleMolson Coors chief executive Mark Hunter has been appointed a trustee of Drinkaware. Also joining the board of trustees are Ted Tuppen, chief executive of Enterprise Inns, and Helen Humphreys, director of the communications consultancy Acorn. The trustees’ role is to map out Drinkaware’s strategic direction in attempting to reduce alcohol misuse.
