Cornish producer releases ‘rum for gin lovers’
A new start-up distillery in Cornwall has launched a “botanical rum”.
Bora is named after the Cornish word for dawn and is being positioned by producer Penryn Spirits as a “rum for gin lovers”, designed to be drunk with tonic as an aperitif.
White rum sourced from the Caribbean is redistilled in Cornwall with locally-sourced botanicals including nettles and quinces.
A 50cl bottle of the 41% rum has an rrp of £30.
Penryn Spirits has been set up by Pete Mack and Willoughby Warner who first discovered their love of rum when at the Britannia Royal Navy College in Dartmouth together.
