Glengoyne asks consumers to choose single cask whisky
Glengoyne single malt Scotch whisky is inviting consumers to help choose its next single cask bottling.
The distiller will hold a live stream tasting on August 28 of four rare cask samples and is selling a tasting kit containing mini-bottles of each so that Glengoyne fans can join in.
The Casks Unlocked event will feature spirits from a port pipe, a hogshead, a bourbon barrel and a Madeira cask which will be discussed by distillery manager Robbie Hughes, global brand ambassador Gordon Dundas and a panel of industry figures.
Tasting kits are available from the distillery’s online shop priced £50.
All those taking part will be invited to vote on their favourite and the winning selection will be bottled and become the distillery’s next Cask of the Moment bottling.
Hughes said: “We’re incredibly fortunate to have some of the most loyal fans in the whisky world.
“Having helped to pick the four casks on offer, I’m truly excited to see and hear the reaction to these rare and unique drams.
“Some of the liquid in the sample kits may have never been released for sale, so this truly is a one-of-a-kind experience that we’re excited to offer our community.”
