Kopparberg puts faith in trend for rosé cider this summer
Kopparberg is launching a rosé cider and it is confident the emerging category will “take the UK by storm in the later summer months and into the autumn”.
Rosé Cider now accounts for 13% of cider sales in the US, but in the UK there is currently only a limited number of products in the market.
Kopparberg believes the UK, with its love of pink drinks, will see the growth of a rosé cider category this summer, replicating trends in the US.
Kopparberg Rosé combines traditional apple cider with the natural colours and flavours from red apple skins.
Rob Salvesen, head of marketing, said: “Rosé Cider has proven extremely popular in America, growing to be almost twice the size of the fruit cider category, which is why we are extremely excited to be launching our own to the UK market. Our focus on crisp, refreshing flavour, combined with our positioning as marketing leaders in fruit refreshment is what we feel will set up apart from other pink ciders on the market this summer.”
The 4% abv newcomer is now available from Asda in a 50cl bottle priced at £2.20, four bottles for £6 and or 10x33cl cans for £10.
It will also be available in Tesco stores from August 12 at £2.20 per 50cl bottle, or three for £5.
