Broadland reports profits up driven by key brands

Broadland Wineries has reported a significant rise in profits over the past year, driven by strong performances from a number of its key brands.

The company said pre-tax profits grew to £2milion in the year to March 2019, up from £0.3million the year before.  Turnover increased by 11.6% over the same period to £70.6million.

Broadland’s Minivino single serve wine brand saw an increase in sales of 6000% while Three Mills Fruit Fusion (launched in 2017) rose 43%. The company’s Christmas Advent Calendar and Proudly Vegan also performed well. The company has recently launched the Three Mills Botanicals range, now available in Asda, and the Three Mills 0.05% alcohol-free wines collection. Meanwhile, Minivino Frizzante Rose is now available in a can.

Mark Lansley, chief executive of Broadland Wineries, said:” Our team has made enormous strides forward over the last year. The strong performance of our existing brands, the introduction of some exciting category game-changing brands and our sales growth in the USA have combined to allow us to deliver improved financial results . In a tough market, with significant challenges ahead, we believe we are making decent progress.”

In the last year Broadland also launched a sister company, the Live Kindly Drinks Company, which is focused on social and environmental benefits of non-wine drinks. New products will come on stream over the coming months.
