The Co-op adds low alcohol wine collection

The Co-op has introduced a collection of wines containing less than 0.5% abv each.

The own-label range of low alcohol wines, which are priced at £3 each, comprises a red (Cabernet Tempranillo), white (Sauvignon Blanc) and rose (Garnacha Rose) in 75cl bottles.

The wines are made from grapes grown in the central vineyards of Spain, and they have been created exclusively for the retailer by Felix Solis. When the wines are ready a high-tech method is used to gently remove the alcohol, while maintaining the natural aromas and flavours of the grape blends than drinkers expect.

Sarah Butler, Co-op wine buyer, said: “We expect these figures to continue to grow, with more people looking for lighter or zero alcohol adult drinks. There’s never been more choice at Co-op from across our beer and wine range, and we hope our customers enjoy these new additions.”
