Edrington Beam Suntory appoints Temperley to head London division

Edrington Beam Suntory has appointed former Diageo Reserve Brands supremo Nick Temperley as its new general manager for London.

Temperley will be in charge of specialist, luxury and on-trade accounts, along with wholesale, cash and carry and convenience for the spirits group.

“I can’t wait to get started at Edrington-Beam Suntory UK,” he said. “It’s home to so many leading premium brands and the team has built a formidable presence in the market already, so there are strong foundations to build on. I look forward to working with the team to unlock the next phase of growth in one of the most vibrant premium spirits markets in the world.”

Edrington-Beam Suntory’s formidable whisk(e)y portfolio includes Highland Park, Laphroaig, The Macallan, Ardmore, The Famous Grouse, Naked Grouse, Teacher’s, Yamazaki, Hibiki and Hakushu, Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, Knob Creek, Canadian Club and Kilbeggan.

It also distributes Courvoisier cognac, Snow Leopard vodka, Roku gin, Brugal 1888 rum and a portfolio of liqueurs and specialities including Sourz, Bols, Galliano and After Shock in the UK.

He previously managed a portfolio of luxury brands including Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Tanqueray and Ketel One at Diageo, and worked at Ford earlier in his career.

Mark Riley, managing director at Edrington-Beam Suntory UK, said: “Nick joins Edrington-Beam Suntory UK at an exciting time in our development. Our key city strategy has already driven substantial growth in London.  With his leadership and proven track record of building and launching brands into the premium category, we believe there is immense unrealised potential.”
