Conviviality to distribute Marqués de Riscal wines

Conviviality is taking over UK exclusivity for Marqués de Riscal across all channels, with independent retail sales through Walker & Wodehouse and on-trade sales through Matthew Clark.

Marqués de Riscal is described by the group as “one of the most iconic wine suppliers on the planet”, and its vineyard boasts one of the highest averages ages of any winery in the area.

Andrew Shaw, group wine buying director at Conviviality, said: “The Marqués de Riscal winery has been in existence since 1858, producing some of the finest quality wines in Spain. We are proud to be working alongside a producer of such distinction who is able to provide a fantastic quality range.”

Simon Jerrome, head of wine buying for Conviviality (direct and trading), said: “This is a very exciting acquisition for us. We are committed to working with pioneering companies to bring our customers the very best products, and the addition of the Marqués de Riscal range will strengthen our Spanish portfolio to offer customers an even broader portfolio to choose from.”

José Luis Muguiro, general sales director and board member of Marqués de Riscal, said: “Marqués de Riscal is delighted to announce that Conviviality will now be looking after the distribution of our wines in the UK. We are very excited about this new collaboration, which we are sure will allow us to build and increase our presence in the on-trade and independent specialists. Through their position in the UK market, Conviviality is the perfect partner to take us forward and we are thrilled to be working with them.”

The full range includes a big collection of Spanish wines from the company, including variants of Crianza, Gran Reserva, Rosada, White Rueda, White Limosin and White Sauvignon.
