Global Brands to handle Brewdog’s Uncle Duke’s whisky in the off-trade

Global Brands has been appointed to handle off-trade distribution for Brewdog-owned whisky brand Uncle Duke’s.

The tie-up comes as part of a wider deal that sees Brewdog’s Lone Wolf gin, vodka and canned RTD gin and tonic taken on by Global in the on-trade.

Uncle Duke’s was launched by Brewdog in late 2016, principally for sale on its own website and in its own bars, and was billed as a stand-alone project outside the Lone Wolf set-up.

It is a single grain whisky aged for four years in virgin American oak described at its launch as “the ultimate bastardisation of bourbon and whisky”.

Global was awarded the on-trade Lone Wolf business after a three-way tender process.

Lone Wolf spirits are already sold directly into the off-trade with listings including Tesco, Morrison and Sainsbury’s.
