The Benevolent's Thanks for Giving auction raises £25,500
The Benevolent has raised more than £25,500 at its ‘Thanks for Giving’ online silent auction.
The Drinks Industry Charity’s auction site featured around 70 ‘one-of-a-kind’ items, allowing participants to bid for a wide range of lots to suit every budget and taste. Popular options included a private box at The Royal Albert Hall to see Cirque Du Soleil, a Michelin Star Experience at The Harrow at Little Bedwyn, VIP Hospitality tickets to a match or ODI at Lord’s Cricket Ground or a VIP opportunity to attend the filming of the Graham Norton Show, and many more.
The amount of £25,500 raised will enable The Benevolent to continue its work helping colleagues within the industry when facing a variety of difficult circumstances including serious illness, financial hardship or personal crises.
David Cox, chief executive, said: “This is another heart-warming example of members of our trade recognising the need to support this vibrant and highly effective trade charity and entering into the spirit of competitive bidding. As a last initiative prior to my retirement, I am delighted that we have beaten our budget and I thank sincerely all the generous donors of auction lots and, of course the successful bidders.”
