Broadland taps into lower calorie and lighter alcohol segment

Broadland Wineries has launched TrimVin, a new range of low-calorie and lighter-alcohol wines aimed at the off-trade.
The British wines are available in a red, white and rose, and they are sold in a 18.7cl single-serve format. Each contains less than 100 calories and has an alcohol content of 8% abv. The range retails at £1.25.
Arabella Woodrow, MW at Broadland Wineries, said: “Lower alcohol, lower calories, wines are becoming an increasingly important part of the retail offer as consumers seek a healthier lifestyle. With TrimVin, we focused on developing a great tasting wine which we then combined with approachable easy to remember branding, and strong in-store shelf visibility.”
One third of Brits are making a conscious effort to reduce or limit their alcohol intake, with over half drinking less alcohol than in previous years, according to research from Mintel (12 months to November 2016).
