Morgenrot extends Quilmes range as demand grows
Morgenrot, the Manchester-based drinks importer, has launched new 35.5cl canned versions of the Argentinian Lager, Quilmes.
The company said it has seen considerable interest in the bottled versions of the lager, driven by the growing popularity of South American cuisine and culture.
John Critchley, Morgenrot’s commercial director, said: “Quilmes is an Argentinian icon, known and loved around the world so we are thrilled to be able to extend our relationship with the brewery and launch this new format to the UK market. The development of cans, which a few years ago would never have been seen in pubs, bars and restaurants, has been one of the stand-our beer trends so we are confident the new line will see strong interest.”
The lager is brewed to 4.9% abv and it is described as a classic lager that reflects its brewing heritage: golden in colour, rich texture, refreshing light hoppy taste with a crisp, dry, thirst-quenching finish.
Critchley added: “With the continuing trend for South American cuisine, we think the cans will further strengthen our portfolio and have a big festive season in front of them."
