Buckingham Schenk strengthens Spanish operations
Buckingham Schenk has announced it is strengthening its Spanish operations with the aquisition of a new winery.
The importer's parent company, the Schenk Wine Group, takes ownership of Finca Casa Lo Alto at the end of this month.
The Spanish estate, which was founded in 1796, is based in Utiel-Requena. It is one of the oldest estates in the area and it currently grows Bobal, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Chardonnay.
Craig Durham, managing director, said: "We are delighted with this latest addition to the Schenk Wine Group and we are confident it will give us greater variety and quality within the group's Spanish range. There are some exciting plans for this estate and we look forward to announcing more on this in due course."
The move comes after investment in Italy last year with the purchase of the Montepulciano producer Azienda Agricola Lunadoro.
