Morgenrot adds sparkling Albarino
Morgenrot has bolstered its portfolio with the addition of a sparkling Albarino from north-west Spain.
The Manchester-based beer and wine importer will now distribute Feitizo Da Noite, a 100% sparkling Albarino from the Rias Baixas region of Spain.
Meaning ‘Spell of the night’ in Galician, the wine is made using the region’s popular Albarino grapes.
The sparkling wine, which is 12% abv, comes in cases of four, priced at £17.47 a bottle. The wine is produced by the highly acclaimed Bodegas Pablo Padin and using selected vineyards the grapes are handpicked, de-stemmed and undergo controlled temperature fermentation in aged stainless steel tanks, before ageing for a further nine months in the bottle.
Morgenrot’s commercial director, John Critchley, said: With the trend for sparkling Albarinos on the rise globally thanks to the hard work of the Rias Baixas winemakers and the consumer’s experimental tendencies, we are delighted to launch this unique wine to the UK market in time for Christmas. The Bodega’s team treat the grapes with so much respect and that comes through in the final product so we’re confident operators and consumers alike will love the powerful yet balanced flavours of this refreshing wine.”
