The Wine Show host Joe Fattorini to run marathon for charity
The Wine Show presenter Joe Fattorini is to run the Médoc Marathon in aid of the drinks trade charity, The Benevolent.
The Wine Show presenter who is also internal communications manager at Conviviality will run the marathon on Saturday 10 September with an aim to raise £5,000.
The producers of The Wine Show have chosen the Médoc Marathon to be the filming location for part of an episode of the show in the new series. Fattorini will take the viewers through some of the vineyards and Chateaux in Bordeaux and will share his deep knowledge for the region’s wines.
Fattorini said: “It’s possible you know someone who’s been helped by The Benevolent, even if you aren’t aware of it. A lot of the work they do is quiet, sometimes quite modest, but with a huge impact.
“But many people in our industry don’t know that help is there, and how much it could help them. Even change their lives. We couldn’t miss this opportunity to raise money – and awareness – of the remarkable work of The Benevolent.”
David Cox, chief executive of The Benevolent, said: “We are extremely grateful to Joe for deciding to support us in this way. He is one of the trade’s true characters and I am looking forward to seeing what fancy dress outfit the producers of ‘The Wine Show’ will suggest for him to wear!”
