Spar launches beer festival
Spar is promoting the likes of San Miguel, Peroni and Tiger in its first-ever world beer festival in stores.
Budweiser, Stella Artois and Sol also feature in the promotion, which offers shoppers any three in 66cl bottle formats for £6.
The World Beer category is worth £57 million and is the fastest growing segment in the beer category at 13% volume growth, according to Spar’s marketing manager Andy Burt.
He said: “We know that World Beer shoppers are less price orientated than other beer shoppers, and their basket spend is significantly higher than the average convenience store shopper at around £12 per shop, so these are consumers we really want to appeal to.”
