Wine Rack announces price freeze
Wine Rack has announced it will hold its wine, spirit and Champagne prices until mid-April after the duty hike announced in last week’s Budget.
Chancellor George Osborne announced that the duty escalator would continue, adding 11p to a bottle of wine, 13p to sparkling wine and 41p to a bottle of spirits, from March 26.
Wine Rack’s still wine deals include Errazuriz wines from £6.49, Villa Maria from £6.99 and Gorilla wines from £5.49, while Taittinger Champagne is featured at £25.99 and Veuve Clicquot at £33.99, with 5% off when you buy six.
The chain’s featured spirits deals include Famous Grouse for £11.99, Gordon’s gin for £11.99 and Coole Swan cream liqueur for £15.99.
The retailer is to review its prices on April 16.
