Sainsbury's names Beer Hunt winners
Sainsbury’s has named the regional finalists in its Great British Beer Hunt competition.
The winning beers were chosen through a combination of customer shopper and beer expert views.
The beers will all be listed nationally in Sainsbury’s stores for three weeks in September and, based on sales, two from each region will go forward to a grand final.
From the eight remaining beers, two will be chosen as the overall winner and be given a listing in 300 stores for a minimum of six months from November.
A runner-up will get a listing in 150 stores for six months.
The winning beers are:
Scotland, Northern Ireland and north east England: Harviestoun Wild Hop IPA; Williams Brothers Caeser Augustus; Caledonian Brewing Wild Dutchman Wit Bier; Williams Brothers Profanity Stout.
South east and eastern England: Ridgeway Ivanhoe; Ridgeway Bad King John; McMullen Stronghart; Oakham Bishop’s Farewell.
