Inter Rhône has announced that Florence Boubée-Legrand will take over as export manager for the UK market
following the departure of François Drounau in January. She will focus on the promotion and communication of Côtes du Rhône wines. Boubée-Legrand, who has worked for Inter Rhône for more than three years said: "It is very exciting to have the opportunity to work on a mature market such as the UK."
Red Bull is investing £2.5 million in a trade and consumer marketing campaign to launch its second wine spritzer, Sabai Pomegranate.
The drink will launched at London Fashion Week from Feb 12. The marketing spend will be split, with £1.3 million on consumer marketing and £1.2 million on trade marketing.
The UK launch will be supported with above and below-the-line promotional campaigns driving trial, awareness and sales. Sabai Hibiscus - a blend of Thai and hibiscus wines mixed with carbonated water - was launched last summer.
This year's ProWein wine show will feature a speciality food section - Wine's Best Friends - for the first time. The area will feature fine cheeses, unusual sausages, oils, vinegars and pasta sauces. Director of special projects Danila Avidu said: "With this new presentation, ProWein 2007 is highlighting actual market merchandising trends and profit-enhancing tie-ins." Wines of Chile has appointed Lauren Laubser
(above) marketing and administration manager, taking over from Zanna Marr. Laubser was formerly communications manager at Brand Phoenix.
UK director Michael Cox said: "Wines of Chile has a full and varied campaign planned for 2007 and beyond and Lauren's energy and experience will greatly assist our efforts."
The Financial Times has developed a fine wine plan in partnership with Lay & Wheeler
merchants. Members of the FT Fine Wine plan have direct access to a dedicated fine wine team, including MWs, offering telephone advice. Members can also earn credit on wine bought, which can be used against future wine purchases. The service also includes an online tracker, where members can check the current market value of their collection.
