Take-home plan for reborn Archers
A take-home launch for a range of beers from the Swindon-based Archers brewery is to be launched after the company was bought out of administration.
The remains of Archers has been bought by Simon Buckley, owner of the Evans-Evans brewery, the sixth generation member of the famous Buckley brewing family of Llanelli.
Archers went into administration in March after a period of difficult trading.
Buckey has bought the Archers brands and plans to develop a new brewing and wholesale business under the name Wiltshire Ales.
Buckley said: “We will be revitalising some of the famous Archers brands and adding new Wiltshire Ale seasonal brews.
“Over the last few years, Archers brands have suffered from various quality issues. We intend to focus on returning the brands to their former glory, and to commence brewing in Wiltshire in the early part of next year. Until then, the beers will be brewed in South Wales.
“The company will launch a series of Archers bottle beers and will develop those brands for the take-home and international bottle market.”
