Hattingley Valley launches first still wines
Hattingley Valley has released its first range of premium still wines.
The family-owned Hampshire winery, which specialises in English sparkling wines, is now extending its expertise into the still wine sector with the launch of a 2019 Rose and 2016 Pinot Noir.
The Rose (rap: £14) is described as “light and elegant” and it is made from Pinot Noir Precoce, sourced from Kent and Berkshire vineyards. It will be release early April.
The 2016 still red wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir, and it will be released later this year. The grapes have been fermented on the skins for two weeks, before being transferred to French oak barrels, where the liquid is then aged for a further three years. The wine is described as tasting of rich dark berry fruit, with notes of smoke.
A small batch production of only 8,000 bottles will be available to purchase from the company’s website, Enotria & Coe and via independent retailers throughout the UK.
