Champagne Lanson appoints new UK managing director

The House of Lanson has appointed Robert Rand as its new managing director.

Rand takes over from Paul Beavis, who left the company at the end of 2019.

Rand spent four years as Lanson’s UK sales director, where he “successfully mentored and drive Lanson’s sales team, exceeding annual sales targets to establish the brand as the second largest Champagne House in the UK”, according to the company.

He has also held the roles of head of sales (off and on-trade) and as senior account manager (major multiples) at Lanson UK. Prior to joining the Champagne House he worked at United Wineries, Moet Hennessy UK and Carlsberg Breweries.

He said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be taking on the role of managing director at this important transition with the brand. We are fortunate to have a collective team of incredibly strong and dynamic individuals working with us at Champagne Lanson UK and we also have exciting, evolutionary plans ahead.

“We will shortly be revealing our exciting brand redesign, new product launches, a new marketing and advertising campaign, as well as our 43rd partnership year at The Championships, Wimbledon and our sixth partnership year with Chestertons Polo in the Park.

“2020 also happens to be our 260th anniversary and for what lies ahead, I am also pleased to announce that we have appointed Daniel Corry as head of sales (off-trade) and Alastair Harwood as head of sales (on-trade), combined with the recent promotion of Michael Permberton as our financial director. All the ingredients to make 2020 a memorable year, which I am very much looking forward to leading in the UK.”
