First UK portfolio tasting for Famille Helfrich
Famille Helfrich, the arm of Les Grand Chais de France dedicated to independent retailers and the premium on-trade, is planning its first portfolio tasting event.
The tasting, which will take place February 25-27 from 10am to 5pm, at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham, will feature 300 wines from the Famille Helfrich portfolio.
The tasting will also feature sections dedicated to cremant, vegetarian, organic and 0% abv wines, in a range of format sizes. There will also be a round table discussion on cremant and a culinary demonstration by Calvet brand ambassador and local Michelin-starred chef, Glynn Purnell, to celebrate the launch of the new Calvet range for independents and the on-trade.
Chris Davies, director of independents and on-trade for Famille Helfrich, said: “Through this, our first Famille Helfrich tasting event, we aim to show the on-trade and independents that we can supply them exclusively with everything from premium to house, from traditional to on-trend, not only from France but from across our international portfolio.
“Famille Helfrich was founded in 1979 and we are proud to still be family-owned and run. Our size and infrastructure mean that we can consolidate our on-trade wines at Les Grand Chais de France HQ in Alsace. They can be ordered on mixed pallets with the minimum order being just one half a pallet, making us the ideal supplier for both on-trade and independents.”
Wines will be shown from the producer’s 50 domains covering regions in France as well as recently-acquired properties in Germany, Spain and Hungary and also the New World.
