NZ Winegrowers aims for "most successful" International Sauvignon Blanc Day
New Zealand Winegrowers is gearing up to celebrate International Sauvignon Blanc day on May 4, which the group said is shaping up to be “the most successful yet”.
The group said its online digital campaign already reaches more than 50 million impressions under the hashtags: #nzwine and #sauvblanc.
Chris Yorke, global marketing director at New Zealand Winegrowers, said: “This is on track to be the biggest social media campaign NZ Wine has ever been involved in and it is fitting that it is around Sauvignon Blanc day – New Zealand’s most exported wine varietal.”
People around the world are getting ready to raise a glass of chilled New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to celebrate the country’s flagship variety on Friday 4 May, with festivities planned in key markets across Australia, Asia, Canada, UK and USA.
In the UK the group is holding an exclusive Sky High Dining experience in the New Zealand Penthouse, with a Sauvignon Blanc Supper Club for consumers including a mini wine masterclass. The four course Antipodean inspired menu prepared by chef duo Kiwi and Roo, will showcase the diverse styles of Sauvignon Blanc with different matches for each course.
Also in the UK, NZ Winegrowers is supporting trade promotions running in 50 outlets to promote Sauvignon Blanc with an incentive to win a trip to the International Sauvignon Blanc Celebrations in January 2019.
New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc exports equate to more than 80% of the country’s total wine exports.
