WineGB unveils new branding

Wines of Great Britain (WineGB) has unveiled its new branding to support the UK wine industry’s new name and identity, along with the announcement of its activities in 2018.

The ‘roundel’ is designed to be easily recognisable and it incorporates the key elements of the industry, featuring grapes and wines through illustration and wording, together with the prominent use of the union flag.

The primary branding is on a dark blue background but it will also appear on a whilte background as well in mono.

A rebranding of the industry’s competition (now named WineGB Awards), and English Wine Week/ Welsh Wine Week will follow shortly.

WineGB’s marketing director, Julia Trustram Eve, said: “We are proud and delighted to launch our new branding. It was important to us to have a device that is memorable and recognisable, authoritative and adaptable. We wanted the branding to be contemporary and stylish, to reflect the quality and heritage as well as the exciting future of our industry and its wines, and with this design we have it.”

Wine GB’s branding and name will be widely communicated through its marketing materials and devices over the coming months, from social media handles to the soon-to-be-launched website.

The group has also highlighted key events for WineGB this year, starting with the Wines of Great Britain AGM and Members’ Conference, which takes place on April 25 at Vintners’ Hall.

Shortly after this, on April 26, is the Wines of Great Britain Trade & Press Tasting in RHS Lindley Hall, London.

Next on the calendar is English Wine Week and Welsh Wine Week, which runs from May 26 to June 3.
