Published:  14 February, 2018

Robin McMillan has stepped down as chief executive at The Wine Society after almost six years at the helm of the trade’s oldest mutual society.

Turnover has grown by 45% during his leadership and active membership has risen by 25% to hit the 140,000 mark.

“I am proud to have led this sustained growth of the business and the significant investments that have been made to deliver the best possible services for our members,” said McMillan.

He is standing down on February 28, and his interim replacement will be Liz Cerroti, head of member experience at the society.

Chairman Sarah Evans said: “Robin leaves The Wine Society in a healthy and positive position as a business and within our competitive market.  On behalf of the Committee I would like to thank him for all his work over the last six years and join with Society members and staff in wishing him well for the future.”
