Wines from Spain prepares for 2018 annual tasting day
Published:  14 February, 2018

The Wines from Spain Annual Tasting 2018 is set to take place on March 6, featuring wine from more than 300 Spanish wineries.

The event, which will take place at London’s Sky Garden, is designed to highlight Spain’s wealth of styles, grape varieties and terroirs.

For 2018, which marks the 29th year of this event, doors will also open to the public in the evening as Wines form Spain teams up with Three Wine Men to host a consumer event celebrating Spain and its wines. The Three Wine Amigos from Spain tasting will be hosted by Tim Atkin MW, Oz Clarke and Olly Smith.

The event will also feature an Innovation Bar and an Evolution Bar. The former will feature wines selected by top critics and influencers who will share the Spanish wine which, for them, best illustrates the spirit of innovation found in Spain today. This bar will include a self-pour tasting area from Sky Garden’s Central bar on level 35.

The Evolution Bar, on Sky Garden’s level 36, will host a series of informal tutorials highlighting the recent evolution of key Spanish wine styles and regions.

Tutorials will include: The Empire of Garnacha presented by Sarah Jane Evans MW; Green Spain, by Tim Atkin MW; and Exciting Spanish Whites for Your List, by Raul Diaz.

The Wines from Spain Annual Tasting 2018 will be open to members of the trade and press between 9.30 and 5.30pm, by invitation only.
