Marques de Caceres launches Flamenco-inspired wine

Marques de Caceres has crafted a limited edition wine, which it said has been inspired by the passion and tradition of Flamenco high fashion.

The Rioja wine estate has launched MC, which has been designed in partnership with SIMOF, the Spanish Flamenco festival.

The two have a partnership which dates back six years and each year fashion designers are invited to submit design proposals that are evaluated by a committee of experts, including exhibitors, event organisers and renowned designers. Cristina Forner, the president of Marques de Caceres, supervised the panel of experts.

This year, Flamenco fashion designer, Loli Vera, has been crowed the winner.

The MC Limited Edition is a 2015 new-generation, young, expressive wine made from 100% Tempranillo grapes, selected by hand from 65 to 90 year-old vineyards, spread over various altitudes in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa.

The wine has been aged for 15 months in new French oak barrels, and the result is a wine with an intense, dense, dark cherry red colour and a well-defined bouquet of ripe grapes and black forest fruits with floral notes.
