Conviviality reshapes its leadership team

Conviviality has announced it is reshaping its leadership team in order to “bring decision making closer to the customer”.

The revised organisational structure comprises a number of new elements, across various areas of the business.

For Group Buying and Insights, the company says it is bringing all of its drinks buying teams under the leadership of Steve Jebson, who joined the business in November 2015. His new role, as Buying and Insights Director, is designed to ensure the company “truly leverages the scale of the business with our suppliers” as well as giving its supplier partners a clear route to maximise their business across the entire group.

Conviviality Retail is currently headed by David Robinson, who specialises in drinks-led convenience retailing and focuses on the wholesaling and franchising of alcohol and convenience foods, through the fascias of Bargain Booze, Select Convenience and Wine Rack. Robinson’s organisational structure remains unchanged with the exception of the drinks buying capability, which will now be handled by Steve Jebson’s new team.

In the Commercial team, Conviviality has brought together all of the selling and marketing functions within Conviviality Direct and Conviviality Trading under James Lousada, who joined the business in June 2016. In his new role as Commercial Director, Lousada will now also lead the Bibendum and Matthew Clark sales and marketing teams who support all customer relationships in the on-trade. The company said the benefit of this change is to simplify the processes involved in supporting its customers.

Within Customer and Operations the company has given a new role to Mark Riley, who joined Bibendum in 2012, and was managing director of that business when it was acquired by Conviviality in May 2016. He now has a new role as Operations Director, where he is tasked with ensuring the delivery of the “most efficient supply chain with an outstanding service to customers”. His responsibilities cover the Bristol customer contact centre, Bristol supply chain teams and the entire Conviviality logistics operation.

The company has also announced a Directorate change, whereby Mark Aylwin will step down from the Board and role as MD of Conviviality Direct at the end of this month, having fulfilled his objective of integrating Matthew Clark and Bibendum into Conviviality Direct.
