Speyside Distillery links up with Cellar Trends
Speyside Distillery has agreed a UK supply chain deal with Cellar Trends.
The deal covers its Spey and Beinn Dubh brands, as the producer seeks to grow further into the UK market.
The producer has five core expressions for Spey as well as exclusive limited-edition bottlings as well as its ruby black whisky Beinn Dubh.
Speyside Distillers chief executive officer John Harvey McDonough, said: “Speyside Distillery’s whisky expressions have grown extensively in the past five years so moving our sales and distribution operation to a major player like Cellar Trends was the logical next step.
“Asia is an incredibly strong market for Spey because Harvey’s of Edinburgh has a base there, but the growth of other international regions, in particular the UK, has been outstanding. We now have a presence in over 30 markets worldwide.
“In the UK alone, sales of Spey increased by 40% in 2015 and again by 50% last year. The UK is critical for both the Spey and Beinn Dubh brands and handing product distribution over to Cellar Trends will allow us to focus more closely on building further brand awareness in an increasingly crowded marketplace for premium spirits.”
The producer’s managing director, Patricia Dillon, said: “We wanted to collaborate with Cellar Trends because our own premium brands were a good fit with their existing portfolio of premium clients, and due to their track record in generating profitable volume.
“Like Speyside Distillers, Cellar Trends has a family feel and their commitment to customers, brand owners and staff aligns with our own priorities. We look forward to a long and successful association.”
