Halewood bolsters wine arm with Bonfils deal
Halewood Wines & Spirits has bolstered its wine portfolio by securing a deal to distribute French wine brand Bonfils in the UK.
Family-owned Bonfils has a selection of wines from the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
Andrew Turner, Halewood’s director of wine, said: “Bonfils wines represent the renowned appellations of the south of France that are popular with customers, as well as championing lesser known wines that the trade will now have the opportunity to discover and enjoy. This latest deal means that the number of wines offered by Halewood and its agencies has more than doubled in 2017.”
Founded in 1870 by Honorine Bonfils, the business has stayed in the family for six generations. The estate as a whole has 17 winemaking properties, totalling more than 1,600 hectares of vines.
Wines distributed in partnership with Halewood are available to independent specialist retailers, as well as the on-trade.
