Mangrove launches Black Pineapple Rum
Portmore Rum Company has added a new variant to join its recently-launched Black Ginger Rum.
The new Jamaica Cove Black Pineapple Rum, which is being launched by Mangrove, is a blend of Jamaican Pot and Column Stills rum, laced with pineapple. The rum, which is described is being perfect for adding depth and a pineapple ‘kick’ to Pina Coladas, is aged for up to three years and has an abv of 40%.
Nick Gillett, managing director of Mangrove, said: “Jamaica Cove Black Pineapple Rum, as well as Black Ginger Rum, are flavourful, quality additions to the Mangrove portfolio. The infusion of pineapple – which is an increasingly popular ingredient amongst bartenders – with a quality Jamaican rum, offers greater depths of flavour for creative cocktail making.”
The newcomer, which is priced £22 for 70cl, will be targeted at the off and on-trade.
Portmore Rum Company is a newly-formed spirits business which manages the brand Jamaica Cove Rum.
