Tom King joins WSTA board
Treasury Wine Estates’ European managing director has joined the board of the Wine & Spirits Trade Association.
King is the second addition to the board this year, following Ridgeview chief executive Tamara Roberts.
They join industry heavyweights Diana Hunter, Pierpaolo Petrassi MW, Charles Ireland, Laurent Pillet, Troy Christensen, David Mawer, Huw Pennel, Michael Saunders, Jo Thornton and Andrew Wilby on the board, along with WSTA chairman Dan Jago and chief executive Miles Beale.
King took over from the late Dan Townsend as managing director at TWE earlier this year. His 10-year drinks industry career has also taken in Bacardi along with various roles at TWE.
King said: “It is a great privilege to be appointed to the WSTA board, especially at a time of such importance to the wine and spirits industry. We are faced with several key challenges and opportunities in the coming years and I look forward to helping the WSTA frame its engagement with government and the trade over this period, as well as contributing to the great work that the WSTA does for our industry.”
Beale added: “I am delighted to be able to welcome Tom onto the WSTA Board. Tom’s experiences and knowledge in and outside the industry will invaluable, so too his contribution to navigating uncharted waters for the UK wine and spirit industry.”
