Morgenrot adds Pang Pang beers from Sweden
Morgenrot has added to its world craft beer portfolio with the “highly sought-after and utterly unique” Pang Pang beers from Sweden.
Pang Pang, which was set up by lone brewer Fredrik Tunedal in 2010, is the oldest craft brewery in Stockholm. The brewer has developed a reputation for producing eye-catching and distinctive beers, such as Shower Beer, a 10% abv double pale ale specifically made to be enjoyed in the shower.
The four-strong range also includes the 4.5% abv Tiki Tango Pale Ale, described as the ‘entry gate’ to Pang Pang beers; the 5.8% abv Golden Glock Fruit IPA, “containing every fruit you can name in five minutes”; and Flamingo-Go IPA (6% abv), which is a creamy IPA brewed with oats and Simcoe hops.
Tunedal said: “It is amazing to have my beers in the UK and I am delighted to be working with Morgenrot as we kick things off this summer. I have the deepest respect for the UK beer scene and brewing culture and am humbled to get this chance to mess your whole notion of craft beer up.”
Morgenrot’s commercial director, John Critchley, said: “We have been slowly building our craft beer portfolio, searching out breweries who are doing something a little bit differently, who have real personality and beers that assault the sense in the best possible way. When the chance to speak to Fredrik came along, we jumped at it and can’t wait to unleash some craft beer Swedish mayhem on the UK this summer.”
Others in the Swedish portfolio are not yet available in the UK, such as Bong Water, for which Tunedal rebuilt a fermenter into “the world’s largest bong” and smoked cigars through the freshly brewed vort.
Pang Pang, which translates into English as Bang Bang, was one of the first in Sweden’s craft brewing scene. Tunedal set up the brewery in 2010 aged just 25.
