Stewarts Brewing opens craft beer shop in Edinburgh

Stewarts Brewing has opened its first bottle shop in Edinburgh.

The craft brewer’s shop, Stewart’s Dockside Tap, will have 10 taps of fresh Stewart’s beer from the brewery, allowing consumers to fill one and two-litre growlers plus a wide range of bottles and mini-casks ranging from pale ales to double IPAs, as well as sours and lagers.

The shop will also offer a ‘rent-a-cask’ service for party hire, which is a 36-pint or 72-pint container of cask and kegged beer.

Customers will also be able to purchase tickets for Stewarts Brewing brewery tours, where consumers can have tastings and tours around its own custom built premises and the UK’s first brew-it-yourself Craft Beer Kitchens vouchers to come and brew their own batch of beer at the brewery.

Founder Jo Stewart said: “It’s exciting to finally open the doors as we know there is a very thirsty community of locals who are keen to pay us a visit. Merry Christmas Edinburgh! We also hope to gain an on-licence in the New Year so we can welcome people to come and enjoy drinks on site, including our ‘flights’ of beers to taste.”

The shop is located at 38 Bernard Street, Leith, and it will initially be open from Wednesdays to Sundays.

Stewart Brewing was founded in 2004 by Steve and Jo Stewart. The craft brewer, which has a range of cask ales, bottled beers, cask and keg brews, recently relocated to a custom-built 50-hectare litre brewplant to keep up with growing demand.
