Stella gets bird's eye view of Wimbledon
Stella Artois is flying high for this year’s Wimbledon tennis championships with a campaign focused around the club’s Harris hawk, Rufus.
Rufus has been scaring off pigeons at Wimbledon for the past five years, and hit headlines in 2012 when he was stolen from the back of his owner’s car.
Stella will be offering consumers the chance to get Rufus’s bird’s eye view of Wimbledon with what it is calling “the world’s first hawk simulator”, using footage captured by a drone.
The simulator will appear at London’s Waterloo station from June 29 to July 2.
There will also be an app tennis fans can download to give them the simulator experience if they can’t make it to Waterloo.
Brand owner AB-Inbev is also releasing a limited edition Wimbledon chalice, which it is selling online for £15, and limited edition packs celebrating Stella’s role as the official beer and cider of Wimbledon.
