Thatchers launches craft cider as it heads to Glastonbury
Thatchers has launched a premium cloudy cider brand called Somerset Haze in time for the summer spike in cider drinking.
The new 4.5% abv cider is made from Discovery, Falstaff, Gala and Jonagold apples and is targeted at young adults that enjoy a sweeter, easy-drinking style.
Fourth generation cidermaker Martin Thatcher said: “Somerset Haze gives those drinkers who are looking for an easy drinking, cloudy cider the opportunity to experience the premium taste of Thatchers.
“Haze has the heritage of four generations of cider making behind it and we believe it will fill the gap for an authentic, sweeter, lower abv premium cloudy cider.”
Somerset Haze 44cl cans launched in 252 Tesco stores nationwide, with an rrp of £4.49 for a four-pack. It is also available in 50cl bottles retailing at £1.99.
Thatchers will sponsor the Glastonbury music festival for the second time from June 24-28.Thatchers Gold will be on tap in the festival’s bars, while the family-run business will also show off its oak aged ciders at four of its own craft cider bars around the site.
