Barefoot Wine cleans beaches
More than 1,000 volunteers have cleaned up 14 UK beaches thanks to California wine brand Barefoot.
The Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project, fronted by environmentalist and adventurer Ben Fogle, has been organising local people to collect litter and clean up their beaches over the summer.
The project, run in partnership with Surfers Against Sewage, has been running since 2008 and has cleared more than 12 tonnes of litter from more than 50 beaches since it started.
Barefoot Wine marketing manager Yona Ellis said: “It’s fantastic to see the results from this project continue to grow year-on-year. The Barefoot Wine ethos is all about giving back to local communities. It’s fantastic to see so many people supporting the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project throughout the UK.”
Fogle added: “This has been a great year for the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project and we’re delighted that we have been able to introduce so many people to Barefoot Wine, while at the same time working to save the environment.”
