£6,000 of alcohol seized from Lincolnshire shop
Lincolnshire Police and licensing officers from North Kesteven District Council have seized £6,000 worth of alcohol from an off-licence after it failed a test purchase sting.
Officers targeted the shop after it changed hands and they suspected the new owners did not have the right paperwork for selling alcohol.
They seized its entire stock of alcohol and are investigating whether any other offences have been committed.
Councillor Richard Wright said: “Our licensing team works closely with businesses and organisations in the district to ensure that they are licensed properly. Support is also available online via the council’s website, where applicants can submit applications and paperwork.
“For premises selling alcohol that fail to meet the Licensing Act’s requirements, we will take decisive action to ensure the law is upheld.”
