Kent brewer helps forces charity
Kent brewer Shepherd Neame has launched a limited edition charity version of its Spitfire ale.
All brewing profits from the 24x250ml packs sold through wholesalers and
Majestic, will be donated to the national armed forces charity, Help for Heroes.
Bottles will also be sent as Christmas gifts to forces personnel serving in Afghanistan and Iraq and those being treated at a rehabilitation hospital in Epsom in Surrey.
Help for Heroes is a new national charity which supports members of the armed forces who return wounded from tours of duty. Famous supporters include Princes William and Harry, TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson and musician James Blunt.
Shepherd Neame chief executive Jonathan Neame said: "We’re hoping that this Christmas everyone will raise their glasses to those who risk their lives on our behalf and give a helping hand to those who are rebuilding their lives following injuries.”
