Chilean wine firm Errazuriz has introduced 20% lighter bottles for its premium red wine range. The bottles will be used for all Max Reserva range and single vineyard reds in the Specialities range from the 2008?vintage, which will hit UK shelves in the spring. Errazuriz is represented by Hatch Mansfield in the UK.

New Zealand wine producer Villa Maria has teamed up with travel company Journeys of Distinction for an on-pack competition with a top prize of a trip for two to New Zealand, worth £9,000. The trip includes visits to Villa Maria wineries and hands-on vineyard experience. Ten runners-up will receive a case of Villa Maria Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc.

Viña Ventisquero is to put a neck-?collar on bottles of its Yali brand to communicate its financial support for the Wildfowl & Wetland Trust. It has also launched a Facebook page to update followers on its conservation initiatives.

Languedoc wine firm Lorgeril has promoted Frank Flugge to the position of export director. He joined the company as export manager in 2008, after seven years with Bordeaux negociant Dulong, and has also worked as buyer for Lidl in France.

The Wine Gang collective of wine writers has selected the line-up for the Top 100 tasting at the London International Wine Fair for the second year running. Tastings will include 30 sparkling wines, to celebrate the fair’s 30th anniversary, with 15 Champagnes and the remainder from elsewhere in Europe and the New World. The Wine Gang comprises OLN columnist Tim Atkin MW, Tom Cannavan, Anthony Rose, Joanna Simon and Olly Smith.
