New-oak Deanston joins malt range
Burn Stewart Distillers is switching all its malts to unchill-filtered versions, and is adding a new whisky to the range.
Deanston Virgin Oak, which is finished in new oak barrels from Kentucky, will be bottled at 46.3% abv, like the other malts in the range.
Master blender Ian MacMillan said: “Whisky spends all those years maturing in casks, developing aroma and flavour. By unchill-filtering, nothing is taken away or added, so whisky lovers can enjoy the whisky at its very best. Each dram retains a depth of flavour, allowing gentle, subtle notes to come through, providing a purer taste, nose and appearance.”?Bunnahabhain, Tobermory and Ledaig have been given packaging redesigns to coincide with the Deanston launch.
