Bottle Green expands Italian offer
Bottle Green is extending its portfolio of Italian wines through a new partnership with one of Italy's largest wine groups.
The link-up with wine exporter Provinco will enable the Leeds-based importer to have access to producers in more than 60 regions of Italy. Bottle Green's commercial director Adam Marshall said: "We intend to build on Provinco's undoubted strength in supply, combined with Bottle Green's expertise, to develop significant business together in the UK. As part of a long-term plan, this will encompass all aspects including brands, own-label, sparkling wines and innovative, consumer-led solutions."
Based in Riva del Garda, Provinco was established in the 1970s by a group of wine co-operatives. The company, which has now gone private, is currently run by a team "who are experts in both wine production and efficient distribution", according to Bottle Green.
Provinco is currently the largest single group exporting to the German market. Dr Alessandro Mutinelli, managing director of Provinco, added: "Our commitment to success at a high level is shared by our new partners Bottle Green and we look forward to rewriting the language of Italian wines on the UK market together."
