Robbers threaten to shoot retailer
A drinks retailer says he is lucky to be alive after a gang of robbers tried to bundle him into the boot of his car and threatened to shoot him.
Wesley Gordon, owner of Gordon's off-licence in Gloucester, had just locked up his shop at 11pm on July 25 when he was approached by three masked robbers demanding he hand over his takings.
"I was going to get water, because we haven't had any here, so I had my car boot open and they just came from nowhere," he said.
The trio told Gordon to give them his money, but when he said he had already cashed the takings at the bank, they grabbed his car keys and tried to push him into the boot.
Gordon said: "I managed to keep the boot open with my foot until my neighbour came over and asked if I was all right." Then the gang ran off.
Minutes later the police arrived. "They haven't caught them yet, but it's going to be difficult to identify them because they were all wearing masks. I don't know if they had a gun, but they said they would shoot me, so I'm lucky to be alive."
